A Clevedon writing group is on the hunt for the best short-story penned by people in the BS21 area.

Those who wish to enter can pick any theme, and tales can be up to 500 words long.

Clevedon Writers Meet is encouraging people in the BS21 area to get involved, which includes those living in Kingston Seymour, Weston-in-Gordano, Walton Bay and Walton-in-Gordano.

The group was set up 30 years ago in 1989 and it supports people to explore their preferred writing styles. It meets twice a month at Clevedon Community Centre.

Postal-entries can be made to Writers Meet at the town's community centre, in Princes Road, by October 25.

Prizes range from £50-£20 and competition entries, priced £5, payable by cheque only.

Entries will be judged by author Lois Elsden and the winner will be contacted by Writers Meet in December.
