PLANS have been submitted to build 35 new dwellings on land off Mead Lane in Sandford.

The Strongvox Homes application, which was validated on Tuesday, November 14, comprises the erection of 35 dwellings (Use Class C3) together with associated landscaping, open space, access and infrastructure.

The planning statement reads: "Sandford is classified as a 'Category B' village in the Approach to Rural Settlements Paper, and as such is considered to be relatively sustainable for development by virtue of its proximity to a higher order settlement which has a wide range of services and facilities.

"In the pre-application report, it was noted that because of these factors some small-scale housing allocations would be appropriate, and as such this application was advised to be brought forward through the plan-making process."
