LAST weekend, RNLI volunteers from Portishead were called out following reports of a kayaker in difficulty near Clevedon.
Crew members, who were already on the water on a training exercise, received reports at around 10.44am on Sunday, November 5.
Posting on Facebook, a spokesperson from the RNLI team said: "A second shout came in over the weekend for the Portishead RNLI volunteers, who were tasked to help a kayaker who was believed to be in difficulty near Clevedon, Wains Hill, at 10.44am on Sunday morning.
"The crew were already on the water in Portishead for their weekly training, which meant they were quickly able to reroute My Lady Anne, the Atlantic 85 class lifeboat and get to the scene at 10.58am.
"Thankfully, when they arrived the kayaker had safely made it to the shoreline. With no further assistance required by the volunteers they were able to return to station and ready for their next service call."
