POLICE have closed a road in Nailsea after a man in his 30s was injured overnight.

It is believed that the incident took place in the early hours of this morning (Tuesday, August 8).

A spokesperson from Avon and Somerset Police said: "Police have closed Silver Street, Nailsea, between the White Lion pub and Fosse Way, today (Tuesday, August 8), while they make initial enquiries following a report that a man was injured in the street overnight.

"A man in his 30s went to hospital by ambulance and has been admitted for treatment to an injury which is not currently believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.

"It's not clear how he came by his injury and we're keen to hear from anyone who was in Silver Street between 2am and 3am on Tuesday, August 8, or who has dashcam, doorbell or CCTV footage of the area which could help.
