THE road between Flax Bourton and Long Ashton was blocked earlier this afternoon (Thursday, July 27) after a cement mixer lorry overturned.
Emergency services attended the scene.
Police say the single-vehicle incident on the A370 near the junction with Colliters Way heading towards Bristol happened at around 2.20pm
The lorry driver was taken to hospital with injuries that police say are "not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing".
The incident caused traffic tailbacks and motorists were advised to seek alternative routes pending recovery of the lorry.
The road was partially re-opened at around 4pm and traffic is now moving more freely.
