The true story about the heroic actions of an islander who defied the Nazi regime to save a stranger will be told at the Curzon cinema.

Set during the height of World War Two, Another Mother’s Son (12A) depicts the brave and selfless actions of Louisa Gould (Jenny Seagrove) who came to the aid of an escaped Russian prisoner of war, hiding him from Jersey’s Nazi oppressors for the duration of the conflict.

But as it becomes clear that Winston Churchill will not risking an assault to re-take the island, the community starts to crack under the pressure of hunger and split loyalties – leaving Louisa to fight for the rights of her own family while protecting the young Russian boy as if he were part of it.

Another Mother’s Son will be screened at the Curzon on Friday and will run until April 20.

The hilarious The Boss Baby (U) will also be shown throughout the week, while Peppa Pig: My First Cinema Experience (U) will also be on hand to entertain youngsters during the first week of the Easter holidays.

The Curzon and the Times have teamed up once again to offer one lucky reader the chance to win two tickets to see Another Mother’s Son.
