Clevedon’s very own comedy double act will perform their version of a classic Aesop’s Fable next week, and the Times has a pair of tickets to give away.

Tortoise Vs Hare will be at Theatre Shop in Queens Square on Tuesday and June 13.

The Living Spit show features the laid back Toby ‘Tortoise’ Gollop going head to head in a race with Barry Hare, a popular and extremely quick running champion.

But will the favourite’s over confidence be outwitted by Tortoise’s relaxed attitude to competition?

A Theatre Orchard spokesman said: “Add one running club and the race to end all races, and watch this epic tale of romance, redemption and rural running rivalry unfold.

“Told entirely in rhyme and song by Clevedon’s inimitable Living Spit, it promises to entertain in bucket loads.”

The two halves of Living Spit – Howard Coggins and Stu McLoughlin – first met at the Bristol Old Vic more than 20 years ago and have since gone on to sell out venues across the country.

The pair have written and performed 12 shows together, starting with The Six Wives Of Henry VIII.

Many of Living Spit’s productions feature a historical theme, such as Adolf & Winston and Elizabeth I – Virgin On The Ridiculous, while others use use literary classics as the inspiration.

Tortoise Vs Hare will begin at 7.30pm.

Tickets, priced £11, are available online or by calling 03336 663366.
