A wild and exotic adventure is heading into Portishead next week.

The Jungle Book, Rudyard Kipling’s classic tale featuring Mowgli, Baloo and more, will be performed by Portishead Young Players from Thursday.

After becoming separated from his human village a baby boy, Mowgli, is raised by wolves in the heart of the Indian jungle.

A host of animals, including a panther and a fun-loving bear, Baloo, set about rehoming Mowgli with his own kind. But can they shield him from evil tiger, Shere Khan?

The three-night run promises to be full of excitement and colour at Somerset Hall, in High Street.

Shows will start at 7.30pm each night, with a Saturday matinee beginning at 2pm.

* Tickets, priced £8-12, are available at Morgan-Westley, on 03336 663366 or at
