Princess Diana, Freddie Mercury and Kenny Everett at a gay bar – not exactly an everyday occurrence.
However, that is exactly what audiences at The Wardrobe Theatre will be treated to this month.
In 1988, Mercury and Everett reportedly helped Princess Diana escape the pressures of palace life by dressing her in disguise and smuggling her into London’s notorious gay pub: the Royal Vauxhall Tavern.
That alleged event, involving alcohol, singing and dancing, forms the basis of Dyshoria Arts’ Royal Vauxhall production.
Expect lots of laughs in this comedy show, starring Carrie Marx as Princess Diana, cabaret favourite Joe Morrow as Kenny Everett and Desmond O’Connor.
The show will be held in Bristol on September 19 and will begin at 8pm.
Tickets, priced £10-12, are available on 01179 020344 or online at www.thewardrobetheatre.com
