A female version of a popular comedy is being staged by Nailsea Little Theatre.

The theatre group is beginning its new season with well-known comedy, Odd Couple, centred around a girls’ night of Trivial Pursuit.

The thespians have chosen a classic by American playwright Neil Simon, who is also known for Plaza Suite and Barefoot In The Park.Simon’s original play spawned a film followed by a 1970s TV series, which he then adapted for a largely-female cast.

The show is being directed by Graham Tyson and performances will run from today (Monday) until Saturday at the venue in Union Street. A theatre spokesman said: “Nailsea theatre lovers can look forward to laughs in the first show in their home town theatre’s new season.”

Tickets, priced £10, are available from 07772 981037. Nailsea Little Theatre is celebrating its 55th season this year.
