Made In Dagenham musical to be staged in Weston

The true story of a campaign for equal pay will take centre stage in a musical next week.
Made In Dagenham will be performed by WODS Musical Theatre Company, who will tell the rousing story of a group of women who brought a Ford production line to a standstill.
The women were about to have their pay grade dropped to unskilled and their strike in 1968 made national headlines as they campaigned for the right to equal pay for equal work.
The musical is based on the 2010 film of the same name, where seamstress Rita takes the issue right to the heart of the Government’s trade union committee with Harold Wilson and Barbara Castle contributing to its outcome.
Made In Dagenham will be at the Blakehay Theatre, in Weston, on November 2-4 at 7.30pm, with a 2.30pm matinee on November 4.
Tickets, priced £13.50-14.50, are available from www.worleoperatic.co.uk/tickets and 01934 645493.
