A hugely-successful West End musical will be in the West Country next year – and it promises to provide a bit of winter comfort.

Wicked follows the story of the Wicked Witch of the West (Elphaba) from The Wizard Of Oz and her unlikely friendship with Glinda.

With catchy songs and an emotional storyline, Wicked has proved a huge hit all over the world and will be in Bristol for just five weeks.

Amy Ross – who has appeared in a number of West End shows, including Kinky Boots – will play Elphaba and former EastEnders star Aaron Sidwell will take on the role of love interest Fiyero.

The show will be staged at The Hipprodrome, in St Augustines Parade, from January 31 until March 3 next year, with a range of matinee and evening performance times.

Tickets, priced £25-75 are available by calling 08448 717627 or online at www.atgtickets.com/bristol
