The ever-popular fairytale, Beauty And The Beast, will be brought to life in Portishead this week.

Portishead Players’ pantomime will entertain audiences until Saturday.

The magical tale focuses on a prince who is cursed to live as a beast until he learns to love and is loved in return.

One day an old man called Maurice gets lost in the forest and stumbles upon a seemingly deserted castle – only for the Beast to take him prisoner.

Maurice’s daughter Belle offers to take his place and a love tale as old as time is played out.

The show has a cast of 45 adults and children and will be staged at Somerset Hall.

The pantomime will start daily at 7.30pm from tomorrow (Thursday). Tickets for the Saturday matinee have sold out.

Tickets, priced £8-12, are available at www.ticketsource.co.uk/portisheadplayers, on 03336 663366 or at Morgan-Westley.
