Students at a North Somerset secondary school have cut footloose for their production of the well-known musical.
The show, about a group of teenagers living in a town where dancing is illegal, started at Backwell School yesterday (Wednesday).
It has been organised and directed by the students, and has proved so popular the performances on today and Friday have already been sold out.
Ren is the main character in Footloose, and the show focuses on his attempts to loosen up the conservative town.
Kevin Bacon played the role in the 1984 film of the same name, and the Backwell School cast gave his iconic Footloose jump a go ahead of the show.
The cast was given a boost earlier in the year, when Tony Robinson, best known for playing Baldrick in Blackadder, signed a good luck message on the Footloose posters after he gave a talk at the school.
