WHEN a wife and mother is involved in an accident her husband is forced to re-examine his past and embrace his future.
George Clooney plays Matt King in The Descendants (15) which will be shown in Clevedon from Friday.
His wife’s accident leads Matt on a sometimes humorous, sometimes tragic journey as he tries to deal with his young daughters while wrestling with a decision to sell the family’s land, handed down from Hawaiian royalty.
From the director of About Schmidt and Sideways, Alexander Payne, The Descendants has been nominated for Oscars including Best Film and Best Actor.
It will be shown at The Curzon Community Cinema in Old Church Road from Friday until March 1.
* On Saturday and Sunday at 2pm, the animation A Monster in Paris (U) will be screened.
Set in Paris in 1910, a shy film projectionist and an inventor team up with a cabaret star, a scientist and his monkey to save the city from a monster.
