Based on the smash hit Broadway musical by Hairspray writer Chris D’Arienzo, it features Tom Cruise as rock god Stacee Jaxx.

The film tells the story of a busboy and a waitress from a small town (played by Diego Boneto and Julianne Hough) who meet on the Sunset Strip in Los Angeles in the late 1980s as they try to make it big in Hollywood.

Although it is love at first sight for the duo, they must first overcome a series of obstacles on the road to happiness, and they encounter singer Jaxx and his band Arsenal on the way.

Their struggle to keep their romance alive through the decadence and debauchery of the music scene is told through hits from rockers such as Def Leppard, Joan Jett, Jon Bon Jovi, Journey and Whitesnake.

Rock of Ages also features Russell Brand, Bryan Cranston, Mary J Blige, Paul Giamatti and Catherine Zeta Jones, and is directed by Adam Shankman.

Rock of Ages will be shown at The Curzon Community Cinema in Old Church Road, Clevedon, from Friday until July 19. For full viewing times call 01275 871000 or visit www.curzon.org.uk
