AN EVENING of cabaret and dance to send a Backwell choir which was talent spotted on Youtube to a prestigious competition in New York is planned for next month.

Euphoria, which supported former Britain’s Got Talent winners, Spelbound, during a UK tour, will be joined by The Backwell Trio for the fundraiser, at Nailsea School, on June 16.

The 30-strong group hope to become the first ever UK singers to perform at the National Show Choir Competition held at the Lincoln Centre in March 2013.

The choir need more than £30,000, to take part in the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. The choir hope ever popular The Backwell Trio will get everyone on their feet dancing to popular tunes from the 1960s and 1970s, assisted by a bar which will be open throughout the evening.
