LEGENDARY director Ridley Scott hits Clevedon’s cinema screen from Friday with Prometheus (15) - a film tipped to be one of the best for 2012.
A science fiction film on an epic scale, it follows a group of explorers in the late 21st century as they follow a star map discovered among the remnants of several ancient civilizations.
Led to a distant world and an advanced civilization, the crew seeks the origin of humanity but instead discovers a threat that could cause the extinction of the entire human race.
The film originally began as a fifth entry in the Alien franchise in the early 2000s, but work began in 2010 with the Alien and Blade Runner director, Scott, working with screenwriters Jon Spaihts and Damon Lindelof.
Prometheus stars The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo’s Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Guy Pearce, Idris Elba, Logan Marshall-Green and Charlize Theron.
It will be shown at The Curzon Community Cinema in Old Church Road from Friday until June 21.
