ONE of North Somerset’s most historic landmarks will be captured in clay by a group of local artisans.
The crew from Banwell Pottery, who all have learning disabilities, have recreated Clevedon’s Victorian pier in a series of ceramic tiles which will soon be on sale.
Potter Martin Webb, who runs the Brandon Trust enterprise with pottery manager Diane Slingsby, said: “Once we have the design finalised, we will go on to create the master tiles and the moulds before going through the firing and painting process and would hope to have the new Clevedon Pier product on sale in time for Easter.”
The team have already created designs featuring Bristol’s Clifton Suspension Bridge and Glastonbury Tor.
