An Oscar-nominated actress’ role in a French film will be shown in Portishead this week.

Things To Come, starring French actress Isabelle Huppert, sees the effect a husband’s decision to life his wife has on her.

Nathalie (Huppert) is a philosophy teacher whose live is turned upside down when Heinz, the man she has been happily married to for 25 years, announces he is to leave her.

With her grown-up children, a somewhat senile mother and a new love interest on the horizon, Nathalie’s life is nothing like it was before.

The French film was released in 2016 and has a very good review on Rotten Tomatoes.

Things To Come will be shown by Portishead Film on Friday night. It will start at 8pm at Jubilee Hall, in Slade Road.

Tickets, priced £5, will be available to purchase on the door.
