MANNY, Sid, Diego and Scrat return to Clevedon’s silver screen from Friday in Ice Age 4: Continental Drift (U).
The fourth instalment of the ever-popular Ice Age series, the film sees the biggest disaster and adventure yet, as sabre-toothed squirrel Scrat’s search for his ever-elusive acorn triggers the break-up of the Pangea land mass into the continents that we know today.
Manny the mammoth and his wife Ellie also have to deal with the teenage angst of their daughter Peaches, before the break-up of the continents sees Manny split up from the rest of his family.
Stuck on a floating ice raft together with Sid the sloth, Diego the sabre-toothed cat and Sid’s grandmother, the four try desperately to be reunited with their families and a herd of other animals.
Battling pirates and continental catastrophe along the way, the pals embark on a quest to reach home and safety.
Featuring a stellar cast of famous voices such as Denis Leary, John Leguizamo, Ray Romano, Jennifer Lopez, Queen Latifah, Nick Frost and Peter Dinklage, the film is directed by Steve Martino and Mike Thurmeier.
It will be screened at The Curzon Community Cinema in Old Church Road at 2pm from Friday until August 9.
* Also showing this week, is Friends with Kids (15), a comedy about a close-knit circle of friends at that moment in life when children arrive and everything changes.
The last two singles in the group observe the effect kids have had on their friends’ relationships and wonder if there’s a better way.
They decide to have a child together – and date other people. Their unconventional ‘experiment’ leads the group to question the nature of friendship, family and, finally, true love. This will be screened at 7.45pm from Friday until August 2.
