More than 130 hot air balloons, of all shapes, sizes and colours, will be on display from Thursday to Sunday.

The event brings thousands of people to the West Country year after year and organisers will expect similar attendances if the weather holds.

The mass ascents and nightglows are among the main attractions each year and they will be taking place several times over the course of the festival.

The mass ascents are dependent on good weather but they are planned for 6pm on August 10 and then 6am and 6pm for the remaining three days.

The nightglows and fireworks are planned for Thursday and Saturday at 9pm.

Throughout the festival though there are lots of other activities to enjoy and things to see.

As well as the great sight of watching hot air balloons flood the North Somerset skyline, there will also be a large number of great trade stands and fairground rides open.

Entry to the balloon fiesta is again free this year.

However, visitors can book parking online through the balloon fiesta’s website, which guarantees people a place to park. However, the last entry to the car parks is at 5pm.
