Have you ever dreamed of being a circus performer? If so, the perfect event for you is taking place in North Somerset next month.

Expert circus acts will be heading to Weston at the start of October and will be giving their audience a chance to learn some skills and tricks of their own.

The Wow Weekend Of Wonders (WOW), which will be presented by Theatre Orchard, will provide a fun-filled day to suit the whole family at the Tropicana.

The fun gets underway at noon, where Miss Inform will be based on the seafront with her Miss Inform-ation stall.

She will be handing out priceless information for free, and promises to be a breath of fresh air in a post-truth world.

Miss Inform will be providing free performances throughout the afternoon until 4pm.

The main event will take place at the Tropicana later on that same day at 7.30pm on October 1, with a show packed with dazzling feats.

The audience will be mesmerised by Dizzy O’Dare’s Rise, a surreal and eclectic act combining tightwire, live music and cabaret.

Before the main show, adults and teenagers can pick up skills from a strong woman, or dare to walk the tightwire in two workshops at the Tropicana.

The first, hosted by Strong Lady Productions at 2pm, will seek to develop physical and mental strength.

People can take part in a range of exercises combining yoga, mental strength training and bodyweight exercises.

It will take 90 minutes, and is open to those aged 16 and over.

Later, at 3.30pm, one of the UK’s leading female tightwire walkers, Dizzy O’Dare, will quite literally provide a step-by-step tutorial on this amazing skill. That workshop will be open to people aged 12 and above.

The show and workshops cost £10 each.

WOW is presented in association with The Coasters Touring Network and is supported by National Lottery funding through Arts Council England.

Places on the circus-themed workshops can be booked by emailing info@thetheatreorchard.org.uk.

Circus tickets can be bought online at www.tropicanaweston.co.uk
