Finding a summer camp for children can be a huge help for working and busy parents, so here are some of our suggestions of camps and activities to keep little ones entertained during the school holidays in North Somerset.

From 3 years To 14 years

Hutton Moor Leisure Centre offers a range of poolside activities to keep your children occupied this summer. They can get involved in Splash Attack, Camp Adventure, and Crash course swimming lessons. There is also an on-site crèche which is the ideal solution to your childcare needs, whether you’re at work, or fancy a workout session at the gym or in one of Hutton Moor’s fitness classes. Rest assured that the children will be looked after in a safe and secure environment.

Age 4+

Little Farm is a family-run kids club, set in a rural location with plenty chickens, ducks and sheep. Ideally located, just off the motorway near Puxton Park, and within easy travelling distance of Weston-super-Mare, Worle and Congresbury.

The holiday club, which has been graded “Outstanding” by Ofsted, is open to children from all schools and all ages over four years. Activities are tailored to suit the age of each child. Every day is different, with the opportunity for your child to take part in cooking, campfire and bushcraft, story time, arts and crafts, music, outdoor play, messy play and day trips.

Clevedon Children’s Centre welcomes all families with young children, and provide activities for the children, as well as advice and support for the adults. Parents, grandparents, childminders and other family members are all welcome to attend.

They offer holiday activities, quality crèches and day trips and events which will keep the children occupied. They also offer a programme of Adult learning and training opportunities to ensure your children are given the best start in life.

North Somerset Council are planning a series of Free Family Fun Days throughout the summer, including street dancing, Punch and Judy, circus skills, sports, cheerleading and more.

Dates, times and locations as follows:

Clevedon Salthouse Fields - 30 July and 6, 13 and 20 August.

Weston Super Mare Ashcombe Park - 31 July and 7, 14, 21 and 28 August.

Portishead Lake Grounds - 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29 August.

Age 8-13

Creative Skills Academy offers the chance for your child to develop their cooking skills, under instruction from a fully qualified Food Technology teacher. The kids will learn how to prepare fresh and healthy dishes, and can eat them afterwards – so no need to provide a packed lunch! activities in the afternoon also include arts and crafts, and outdoor fun and games.

Age 4-11

St Nicholas Chantry Primary school Holiday Scheme welcomes primary-aged children from all schools, although preference will be given to children who attend the school.

They provide childcare both after school and during holidays, and get the children involved in a variety of activities from welcome parents to attend one of their after school clubs to meet the staff and see first-hand the types of activities on offer.

For your wannabe footballer these fun days for children aged 5-11, are a great way of keeping them busy learning new skills. who knows they may be a future star! The days are run by RMC Sports and take place in Sports Hall or on the Sports Field (dependant on the weather)
