SINGER, songwriter and 1980s icon John Parr will star in the show American Anthems which is coming to Bristol this month.
The show takes audiences on a journey from the East to the West Coast of the USA. It follows the search for a huge rock star that disappeared at the peak of his career in the early 1990s, to bring him back for one last concert at Madison Square Garden, New York.
John may have been off the radar for a few years but now he is back to the UK and on top form with his new double album Letter to America, his first release since 1996.
Due to lengthy litigation proceedings John had been unable to record in the UK for the best part of two decades which effectively brought his promising career to a shuddering halt as no major label would touch him, but this was finally put to rest in December last year which enabled him to return to the UK.
With a hugely talented cast of singers, dancers, fully live band the show features some of the greatest American anthems such as Born To Run, Livin’ On A Prayer, We Built This City, Bat Out of Hell, Born to Be Wild, Walking in Memphis, and Sweet Child of Mine.
The show will be at Bristol’s Colston Hall tomorrow at 7.30pm. Tickets, priced £20.50-23.50, are available from the box office on 01179 223686.
