The first of the summer 10-mile time trials organised by Clevedon and District Road Club got underway on the Keenmoor course.
Clevedon and District Road Club’s summer 10-mile time trial series got underway on the Kennmoor course.
Despite a brisk wind, a number of riders posted sub 24-minute times to beat the benchmark 25mph average.
Winner on the day by over a minute was Josh Griffiths from Nailsea, who posted a blistering 21.38. Josh rides for the Bristol South Club and is an accomplished young time trial specialist.
Another young local talent, George Jones, took second in 22.45. George has had a good start to his road season including third place in the Bristol South road race featuring eight laps of a hilly Mendip course.
Jon Gall covers more miles on his bike every year than most people do in their cars and despite his 50th creeping up, is showing no signs of slowing down. His 23.14 was good enough for third on the night getting the better of fellow veteran, Gareth Jones, who posted 23.31.
Other times: Rob Wadsworth 23.33, Chris Mills 24.00, Tommy Barlow 24.12, Russ Turner 24.20, Chris 24.45, Ben Jones 24.46, Suneil Basu 24.46, Ben Standen 25.09, Mike Dawe 25.33, Matt Browning 27.45, Darren Vine 28.27, David Browning 28.44
Tuesday night 10s are run every week through the summer starting in Kenn. Sign-on is from 6.30pm for a 7pm start. Please check the Clevedon and District Road Club Facebook page for updates. Non members of CDRC are welcome.
