HIGHLIGHT of the week in the Wrington Vale Snooker League was a fine break of 77 by Ryan Carlier in Frames’ 5-1 defeat of Rovers, which enabled Triangles to take over at the top after their 6-0 win at Backwell Lucky 13.

In a hugely entertaining night at Congresbury, the home side defeated Peelers 4-2. After trailing Mac MacGregor for most of the opening frame, home skipper Irving Prowse took it when he was left an easy pink after a couple of crucial snookers.

Mac, however, beat Ron Purcell in the next by 40 thanks to a good run of 26. Reuben Hurse had a tough frame against Rich Powell and was glad to win a tight match by two points.

Reuben followed this up by defeating Andy Jones by 16. Andy narrowed the gap for Peelers to 3-2 against Ron knocking in a 30 break consisting of five red-blues. Irving won the final frame against Rich thanks in the main to a 23 break in a 49-28 victory.
