Nailsea & Backwell O2 Touch Rugby has restarted for the new season at Nailsea School.

This September, it is not just the children returning to school after summer, but also for Nailsea & Backwell O2 Touch Rugby, who have restarted on the luxury of Nailsea School’s 4G pitches.

The club, now its third full season, has a growing membership, and is looking for new participants to join them this autumn.

O2 Touch Rugby is an inclusive sport for all ages, genders and abilities to play together. For this reason, this exciting sport is increasing in popularity locally, as it has around the world.

Joe Swanson, club organiser, said: “We have been impressed with how the club has grown in such a short space of time in Nailsea. We have a great mixture of participants, ranging from those wanting to improve their core rugby skills, to those who are simply looking for a fun way to keep fit. This is a great environment to improve both.”

Club member Martin, said that he “really enjoys that the youngsters can play alongside older players. Men, women, girls, boys - it doesn’t matter.

The club runs two sessions a week. Thursdays for Under-16s and above and Fridays for Under-10s and above. Both run 7-8pm and have already started.

If you wish to join, your first three sessions are free. You will be assured of a warm welcome, all you need to bring is energy and enthusiasm.
