A car park for parents taking youngsters to rugby matches could be built on the outskirts of a village.
Yatton Rugby Club has applied for planning permission from North Somerset Council to create an area for cars off Clevedon Road in North End.
It has struck a deal with the owner of Brick House Farm to build a gravel car park for spectators, which it says would be used occasionally.
In its application to the council, the club said: “The land will be used for rugby on Sunday mornings on no more than 28 occasions throughout the year.
“As rugby is a winter activity, some hard standing is required during wet periods.
“It is also important to provide a safe pedestrian access from the pavement opposite the Bridge Inn to the playing areas.
“The car park will be in use for around two hours at a time.”
