Gordano 52 pts
Gordano travelled to South Bristol to play fourth-placed Imperial and returned with another emphatic victory.
After a slow start, the visitors finally got their hands on the ball and worked the phases well to drive upfield and in the 15th minute Sam Hodge burst clear to score under the posts to score his 14th try of the year, Hodge adding the conversion.
Two minutes later Hodge’s centre partner Elliot Handscomb scored a try after collecting a chip through by fly-half Rowsell, Hodge again adding the extras. Gordano now full of confidence, soon had their third try after the ball was moved back and forth between eight players before winger Toby Baxter was sent through to finish one of the best tries of the season.
With five minutes left in the half, Imperial were down on the Gordano try line again and their No 8 broke quickly from a scrum to score. On the stroke of half-time Gordano got the bonus point try when good work by Tom Arnall and Chase Southley moved the ball quickly for Jack Thomas to break through to make it 7-26 at the break.
After two minutes of the second half, Hodge again broke though to score under the posts. Six minutes later Rowsell chipped through and was in to score, but left it to Hodge for his hat-trick for the day.
With only 10 minutes of the second half played Gordano scored their third try of the half as captain Arnall crashed over and soon after back-row partner Stuart Harris scored as well.
With replacements coming on, Gordano did not add any further points and Imperial pulled another try back as the victory moved Gordano back to the top of Somerset Premier League.

After 10 minutes Olly Slym crashed over for his first try for the club, quickly followed up with Fred Young and Sam Hodge grabbing the bonus point within 18 minutes.
After this quick start, Minehead started to find their feet and were building some phases and making Gordano do some serious defensive work. Gordano kept them out and added a further a score before half-time through Josh Richards to make it 31-0.
In the second half, Minehead were playing good rugby, but were unable to breakdown the Gordano defence.
Joe Rowsell’s last act before being replaced was to crash over another try, followed up by a quick brace from skipper Tom Arnall.
Minehead finally got over the line for a try, but Gordano finished the scoring from Elliot Handscomb to make the final score 55-7.
