IN the Wrington Vale Snooker League individual open semi-final, Roy Jenkins defeated Richard Powell 3-1 in an excellent match.

Richard started positively with a 25 break in the first frame racing into a 30+ lead, but Roy fought back. They were level going into the colours with Roy pinching it by 13 at the end.

Frame two was a little less fluent, but again Richard stuck with Roy until the latter stages when he knocked in a 30 break at the end to win.

The third frame was a corker as, once again, Richard started like a train with a 20 break and was 35-1 up. Roy came back well courtesy of his own 20+ break to take the lead going into the final few reds.

Richard hit another 16 to take the lead on the colours and with blue, pink and black left, was 71-62 up but snookered. He escaped the snooker and fluked the blue landing perfectly on the pink which he knocked in to win 82-62.

A final fourth frame saw Richard 25-22 up and with a simple red to the green pocket was missed and fouled. Roy then showed his class and knocked in a 24 break and while Richard tried to fight back, the damage had been done and Roy closed out the victory.
