Three North Somerset Athletics Academy sportshall records were broken at the 13th running of the event.

The 13th running of the annual North Somerset Athletics Academy sportshall day once again saw some fierce competition amongst the elite group with some 80-plus athletes taking part in an excellent event.

Previous record holders include internationals and national medallists, so to break a record here is very special and three academy records were broken.

Sam Ledward broke the high stepper and skipping records, Martha Sell broke the high stepper record and Louis Raymond equalled the speed bounce record.

Thanks go to The Club at Cadbury House for once again providing the medals for event winners and also to all helpers on the night.

Results – Year 4-6 boys – 1kg medicine ball chest push: Jake Packham 7.85cm; high stepper: Sam Ledward 21.51; 20-seconds skipping: Sam Ledward (66); standing long jump: Sam Dixey 1.79cm; 20-seconds speed bounce: Sam Ledward 58; eight-lap endurance: Elliot Jeston 1.53.09; two-lap sprint: Conor Hewitt 23.47; one-lap hurdles: Sam Ledward 12.55; reaction sprint: Ollie Harris.

Girls – 1 kg medicine ball chest push: Eleanor White 7.35m; high stepper: Martha Sell 22.46; 20-seconds skipping: Holly Bagnowiec (60); standing long jump: Rosa Ford 1.75m; 20-seconds speed bounce: Lucy Pook (47); eight-lap endurance: Martha Sell 2.00.10; two-lap sprint: Rosa Ford 25.00; one-lap hurdles: Nyah Mills 13.35; reaction sprint: Isabel Blackhurst.

Year 8 – boys – 1kg medicine ball chest push: Toby Smith 7.80cm; high stepper: Jamie Cocks 23.16; 30-seconds skipping: Freddie Fearon (73); standing long jump: Freddie Fearon (2.00); 30-seconds speed bounce: Louis Raymond (79); eight-lap endurance: Sam Holloway 1.54.34; two-lap sprint: Freddie Fearon 23.86; one-lap hurdles: Freddie Fearon 12.64; reaction sprint: Freddie Fearon.

Girls – 1kg medicine ball chest push: Naomi Holt 6.80cm; high stepper: Amelia James 23.08; 30-seconds skipping: Rosa Bushby (82); standing long jump: Blythe Jones 1.95m; 30-seconds speed bounce: Lily Whaley (78); eight-lap endurance: Keira Devereux 1.54.30; two-lap sprint: Keira Devereux 23.89; one-lap hurdles: Holly Golding 12.42; reaction sprint: Lily Whaley.
