Portishead Running Club’s Mark Williams smashed his half marathon time by over four minutes at the Bristol event.
As Portishead Running Club’s orange vests lit up a miserable half marathon in Bristol, it was Mark Williams’ star that once again shone the brightest.
Williams was 87th over the line in 1.20.01, smashing his PB by over four minutes. Ed Broyd also broke the 90-minute barrier, stopping the clock at 1.29.03, 65 seconds ahead of club captain Matt Palmer.
James Lucas, Julian Leach, Adam Gardiner, Eddie Bragg, Judy Orme, Jon Bonner and Iain Johnston also flew the club colours in style, with Orme fourth F60 in a splendiferous 1.45.27.
The club hosted its inaugural Coast Path 10k, successfully completed by 158 runners. The challenging course saw Luke Hanson win in 38.29, with Jane Faram first female in 42.16. The club plans to launch more races in the spring, so watch this space.
