Will qualifies for new race series

Motorcyclist Will Lathrope, aged 15, has qualified for a new race series, which will be held in the UK and Europe.

Will Lathrope, a motorcycle road racer from Portishead has qualified for a new race series next year on his Honda NSR 250 GP.

The 15-year-old Gordano School student has been competing for the last three years in the British Super Bikes (BSB) race series in the Dickies Junior Super Sport 300cc class and is currently running fifth in the championship this year.

The new race series has been set up to find the best young riders in the country and is run by Dorna, a Spanish company who run MotoGP (www.britishtalentcup.com/)

Will got through a qualification process from applications all over the UK at Silverstone and was selected in the final 12 to go forward for the 2019 races in the UK and Europe.

Will has been backed by a couple of small firms in Clevedon and Portishead and thanks go to North Somerset Recycling, Ivywood Construction and Admiral Flooring.
