BS20 Sports A defeated Mizzymead in the Clevedon & District Snooker League.

Ron Reeves got his BS20 Sports A team off to a good start with a 47-35 win over Frank Archer in the Clevedon & District Snooker League, before his team-mate Paul Honess doubled the lead against Mizzymead with a 56-31 win of his own versus Steve Rees.

A high-scoring frame followed with home captain Pete Skinner clocking up 77 points as he beat Colin Tucker, who only scored 39. With the match already won, Steve King must have been more relaxed as a fine 33 break helped him ease past Trevor Yeo 56-6 to make it 4-0.

Reeves was paired with Ray Moorcroft for the home side in the pairs frame and Reeves’ 25 break helped the BS20 pair claim a 5-0 win on the night with a 64-23 frame win over Mizzymead’s Archer and Yeo.

In the other match it was Conservative A v Conservative B. Mark Walsh (A) took the first frame against John Morse 49-26, before Phil Daniels was required to play a fantastic positional shot from pink to black to win the second frame 51-42 for Conservative A, having been behind Dave Sansum throughout.

Luke Stilwell made a 36 break for the host team and ensured him team a match win with a 64-12 victory over Dave Brooks. Conservative B captain Mark Adams pulled a frame back for his team 66-21 over Alan Pople.

The pairing of Walsh and home captain Ashley Hind had no answer to the safety play of Brooks and potting of Sansum, which saw the Conservative B pair take a well-deserved frame 48-10. Final score Conservative A 3, Conservative B 2.

League table: Conservative A 18 pts (played 5); BS20 Sports A 10 (3); Conservative B 8 (4); BS20 Sports RH 7 (3); Mizzymead 2 (3).
