Local golfers fail in their attempt to qualify for the British Open.

GOLFERS from the local area failed in their attempt to qualify for the British Open Championship being held at Royal St Lytham and St Annes, between July 15-22.

Leading the way at the qualifier held at Ferndown, near Bournemouth, was Myles Angell from Clevedon with a 71.

Following behind were John Morgan (Clevedon) 73; Sam Day (Mendip Spring_ 74; Ashley Mansell (Clevedon) 75; Ellis Cook (Burnham & Berrow) 76; Matt Pearson (Burnham & Berrow) 77; George Morgan (Mendip) 80; Leigh Jones (Tickenham) 80; and Reece Johnson (Bristol & Clifton) 80.
