Clevedon Golf Club has seen another busy week of competitions with the current run of good scoring continuing.

There was another extremely busy week at Clevedon Golf Club with competitions taking place nearly every day and the current run of good scoring continuing.

The ladies’ team narrowly failed to win the county Rogers Cup, going down to a 4-3 defeat at the hands of Saltford. The match was evenly balanced with Saltford finishing just that little bit stronger as they won two of the games on the 18th hole.

Visitors put up a strong showing in the seniors’ mixed open, but the top place was taken by Sue and Tim Liddeatt who won on countback after recording a total of 44 points.

The men’s medal was the final opportunity to qualify for the Master Medaller competition to be held in October. The three players who topped their divisions and booked their spots were Stephen Buckland, Alan Phillips and James Barclay.

In the seniors’ Stableford, the divisional winners were Michal Parker and Martin Davies.

Ladies’ captain Sue Tasker entertained her section with the traditional ladies’ captain’s day competition. Lesley Beer and Val Trounce came out on top of a full field with a score of 49 points.

Bob Anderson scored an excellent five under handicap total of 77 in the midweek Stableford to top Division 1 with a total of 43 points. The Division 2 winner was Ross Hodgkinson who came in with a score of 42.
