Countback was in evidence as many fine scores were recorded at Clevedon Golf Club.

It was another week for good scoring at Clevedon Golf Club with a number of competitions having to rely on countback to decide the winners.

In the seniors’ better ball open, four pairs came in with totals of 45 points, but it was the home team of Jack Harris and Henry who came out on top. They managed just one more point on the back nine holes to deny Andy Atkins and Charlie Griffiths from Minehead.

Countback was not needed in the ladies’ Stableford as Hilda Shields was in excellent form, recording the winning total of 46 points, also taking top spot in Division 2. Charlotte Millington won Diivsion 1 with a total of 43, while Sandra Cooper took Division 3 with a total of 39.

Tom Hayden continued hi impressive run of form this summer in the midweek medal, coming in with a nett score of 65. He was denied overall victory by Clive Wheeler on countback.
