Long Ashton Golf Club juniors won two matches to put them into second place in the league table.

Long Ashton Golf Club juniors were involved in two must-win matches last week.

The first was away at Lansdown with Sam Williams (captain), Lewis Ault, Djib Ali, Cameron Fear and Sam Harrison and a home match against Chipping Sodbury with Milan Reed and Ed Maule replacing Ali and Harrison.

The boys did brilliantly with two wins, putting them in second place in the league and they are just waiting on another result to see if they will make the semi-finals.

They won 3-2 at Lansdown and 4-1 at home against Chipping Sodbury and a special mention to Maule who played his debut match for the team and won 4&3.

The club is looking forward to seeing a lot of new juniors moving into the teams next year as some of the older ones move into men’s golf and it looks like a few girls will be among them soon.

Special thanks go to team manager Rich Harrison, for all his hard work in organising the matches.
