Tickenham Golf club’s captain’s charity day was won by 29-handicapper Anya Frizell.

Anya Frizell (29 handicap) won Tickenham Golf Club captain’s charity Stableford competition with 23 points.

Alison Hodgson (29) came second with 22 and James Hook (20) third on 21. The event raised £1,100 for Springboard, a local charity represented by Ann Ramsey who attended the barbecue after the competition and thanked everyone for their much-needed support on the day.

Captain Stewart Galway organised the event and thanked Andrew Camper, Sal Mansfield (for processing the results so quickly), Frank Slater (for his excellent desserts) and Doug Fowler for their help with the arrangements.

Tickenham Golf Club is running 16 events until October to encourage more of the juniors in weekly classes to get out on the course, have fun and compete.

To start with, the events are six holes, while the older ones will progress to nine holes. Francesca won the under-9s and Dewi the under-12s in the first event.
