Clevedon Town travelled to Cribbs and following a goal in each half, came away with a 2-0 victory.

Clevedon could have taken the lead after 25 seconds when Jack Sell crossed for Lucas Vowles to play on for Tyler Ashmead to scuff his shot wide.

Cribbs created their first chance of the game in the 5th minute when Ben Dowdell cut into the box before seeing his shot well saved by Connor Sidley-Adams. A minute later and the ball was bouncing around in the Cribbs’ box before Lucas Vowles pounced on the loose ball but could only send his shot wide.

Clevedon took the lead in the 28th minute when Alex Camm won a corner and Harry Smith swung the ball towards the near post where Clevedon skipper Callum Kingdon powered his header past home keeper Ben Reed and into the net.

Two minutes into stoppage time and the home side’s Matt Spiller saw his initial shot blocked before blasting the rebound towards the near post where Connor Sidey-Adams produced a smart save.

After the break, the home supporters thought they had found the equaliser in the 63rd minute when their most dangerous player Ben Dowdell hit a fierce 25-yard shot that hit the outside of the post.

Clevedon wrapped the game up in the 90th minute when Vowles picked the ball up before beating several home players as he cut into the box and unleashed a shot that flew into the corner of the net.

Following defeat in their first league game of the season, Clevedon have done really well to win three games on the trot and now sit in sixth place in the Toolstation Western League Premier Division.

Clevedon are next in action on Saturday when they visit Crediton United in the first qualifying round of the FA Vase with a 3pm kick-off.

Clevedon Town: C Sidley-Adams, H Ratcliffe (E Feltham 55), S Downe, H Smith, C Kingdon, K Lopata, T Ashmead, M Williams, L Vowles, A Camm (M Davies 63), J Sell (H Walton 84).
