Swiss Valley Girls Under-12s came out on top in an entertaining 5-3 victory over Bradley Stoke.
Swiss Valley Girls Under-12s recorded another victory, but Bradley Stoke did not make it easy.
The home team defence remained resolute throughout and when a SVR attack broke through, the Bradley Stoke keeper was there cleaning up everything.
It took a great run from Ella in attack latching on to a chipped pass from Shannon to break the deadlock, Ella coolly slotting the ball home.
Celia had a sterling performance, but girl of the match was given to Fern who played the full match in her debut for the team and did a great job.
Swiss Valley Rangers and Bishops Lydeard development teams gave a fine display, with Swiss losing 5-3 in an entertaining match.
The match was fairly even other than the two extra goals scored by the Lydeard number six who managed to strike the ball well from distance to beat the SVR keeper.
Girl of the match went to Darcy who scored two late goals for SVR, who were in the ascendancy but unfortunately run out of time.
Portishead Town Under-14 Girls’ win against Downend Flyers at Hanham Athletic was far from straight forward.
Despite opening the scoring through a clever Faith Constable through ball to Emily Edwards, Downend soon broke to level the scores. A Millie Rosenior cross and first time Keira Howse shot restored the lead, but again Downend levelled.
An Edwards double from a Keiana Jones throw and a Katie Henderson cross gave Portishead some breathing space for a half time lead of 4-2.
At the start of the second half, Howse and Jones pressured the Downend defence for the latter to make it 5-2. Again, Downend responded with a goal before Portishead finally began to pull away.
An Edwards cross for Jones to turn and shoot, then a Kim Parker through ball to Edwards and Jones found Rosenior in space to make it 8-3. Again, Downend responded before Howse rounded the home keeper for a final score of 9-4.
