A goal with the last kick of the game gave Portishead Town Ladies all three points at Chippenham.

Portishead Town Ladies scraped through against Chippenham 2-1 with a last-minute goal.

Posset travelled to Chippenham, short of match practice due to weather related postponements and it showed in the first half of this tense match played on an unfamiliar 3G pitch.

Chippenham started brightly and were rewarded with a goal after 10 minutes with an accurate shot just inside the far post. Chippenham continued to play the better football throughout the first-half, although could not add to their total.

Portishead came out in the second half more brightly and were rewarded with an equaliser 10 minutes into the second half with a fine strike from Taylor Gainey.

The visitors had numerous half-chances to take the lead but could not convert any of them.

With the 90 minutes up, Portishead continued to attack and finally Gainey managed to beat the Chippenham keeper with an excellent strike with the final kick of the match, which saw Portishead return to the top of the table.

Robert John Hairdressers player of the match was Imo Fisher.
