Two Portishead girls teams finished as runners-up at a tournament held at Chipping Sodbury.

Portishead Panthers Under-10 Girls, Sponsored by Autolink Vehicle Solutions, were delighted to be runners-up out of 15 teams in a tournament at Chipping Sodbury.

Ten goals scored in total by Sophie W, Amber, Abi F and Sophie G and great play all round, making coaches Stuart and Tim immensely proud of their progress this season.

At the Chipping Sodbury, Portishead Under-12 and 13 Girls took on 13 teams from across the region at the St Nicholas seven-a-side tournament.

Drawn in separate qualifying groups, both teams advanced to the semi-finals to face strong teams entered by AEK Boco from Bristol and Team Mendip from Weston.

The Under-13s qualification was built on impenetrable defence, conceding just a single goal in qualification and the goals of Kiena Jones (3), Romia Nash (2) Izzy Robinson and the pick of the goals a neat Kim Parker shot slotted just inside the post against Brislington and a piece of individual Millie Gilbert brilliance, playing a one-two with Romi, before lashing the ball into the St Nicholas net.

The semi-final against Team Mendip was decided by a long-range Kiena Jones shot for a 1-0 win.

The final against AEK Boco, who Portishead had held 0-0 in qualification, ended in a disappointing 0-3 reverse.
