North Somerset JPL Regional Talent Centre became national champions after defeating Nottingham in the final at Bisham Abbey National Sports Centre.

North Somerset JPL Regional Talent Centre, which is made up of talented boys from all over North Somerset became Under-12 national champions of the Junior Premier League with victory over Nottingham in the final at Bisham Abbey National Sports Centre.

The game was played over four 17 minute quarters and Nottingham took the lead in the first quarter with a well-taken header from a corner.

Although the game remained tight in the second quarter, North Somerset drew level from a fantastic individual goal from Henry Westlake.

They followed this up two minutes later with a counter attack from James Tait and Alex Esposito, with netting the second. Esposito then set up Sammy Foster five minutes later who scored with a quality finish to give North Somerset a comfortable lead.

Nottingham never gave up and always looked dangerous, but North Somerset made it 4-1 with a lightning fast run and accurate finish from Oscar Bridgman in the third quarter.

They added two more goals in the final quarter – a free kick from Alex Esposito, and an own goal, before Nottingham scored again in the last minute to make the final score 6-2 to North Somerset.

Man of the match for North Somerset was shared between Oscar Bridgman and Sammy Foster.

This was a great achievement for North Somerset to become national champions in their second season in the Junior Premier League. Thanks go to the coaches from North Somerset JPL Regional Talent Centre and to kit sponsor SDS Ltd.
