Nailsea Vets eye up league and cup double

PUBLISHED: 14:54 15 March 2017 | UPDATED: 14:54 15 March 2017

Nailsea Vets reached the semi-final of the cup after defeating reigning champions Pas Masters.

Nailsea Vets’ recent form continued with a cracking quarter-final win against reigning first division champions Pas Masters.

Nailsea started the brightest and got off to a good start with Alex Plenty’s third goal of the season. Striker Gary Checketts scored the second and Columba finished off a good move to go 3-0 up. PAS scored a quality goal to make it 3-1 at the break.

Checketts scored his second and a cracking free kick from Lyle Brimble gave the Vets a 5-1 win.

Manager Tony Ogborne said that it was probably their best team performance and after they clinched the league title last week, he is desperate to get a league and cup double.
