Clevedon Ladies made the trip to Keynsham and with a great performance in all departments came away with the spoils.

Clevedon’s pace was proving too much for the home defence and it wasn’t long before their efforts were rewarded when Caitlin Meredith opened the scoring.

Keynsham tried to get back in the game but were unable to find a way through with Harriet Watts and Ella Davey reducing their options.

A quick attack by Clevedon saw right wing Daisy Lacey open up the home defence, the visitors earned a short corner and Davey latched onto a loose ball to make it 2-0.

At the back, Laura Gillespie and Meg Coulter aided by a commanding performance from Nicky Warburton, nullified the home attack.

Anna Barzotelli was causing problems for Keynsham and Clevedon added to their score when Meredith crossed for Amy Dewfall to send the visitors into the break with a 3-0 lead.

The home side came out a more determined outfit in the second half, but they found Clevedon keeper Christina Becker in brilliant form pulling off a string of saves to deny the Keynsham forwards.

Clevedon regained their composure and controlled the game, Rachel Elliot and Tamsin DeBude pushing forward, Meredith and Davey went close as the visitors pressed, Anya James and Vicky Ford helped to lock out the home side.

With time running out Dewfall and Barzotelli were unlucky not to convert their efforts, but Keynsham held out and restricted Clevedon to a 3-0 victory.

On Saturday, Clevedon entertain Winscombe, 10.30am start at Clevedon School.
