Nailsea Cricket Club start the new season with net sessions at the Downs School.

With the new season fast approaching, Nailsea Cricket Club will be commencing their pre-season preparations with indoor nets at the Downs School, Wraxall on March 1 (8.30pm) for five weeks.

Cost will be in the region of £5 per head to cover the hire fee. New members are most welcome.

Last season’s skipper Tom Moss will again be at the helm, as the first team look to continue their fine form of recent years in the Senior Division of the Bristol and District.

Rich Kingscott, as well as taking on the role of head groundsman, will be busy leading the seconds in Division 9 of the B&D, with Richard Billows leading the thirds.

Oldfield Park will again be sharing facilities at The Grove, ensuring plenty of cricket every weekend of the summer.

Early season cricket will be available from mid-April, as The University of the West of England first and second teams play their home games at the club. Full details of their fixtures will follow in due course.

As well as a number of fixtures for their own women’s team, Nailsea will also be hosting Somerset Ladies on May 6-7 in the national 50-over competition against Nottinghamshire and Warwickshire.
