The Clevedon 20:20 Community League started the new season with two fixtures at Dial Hill.

The Clevedon 20:20 Community League embarked on their first fixtures with Clevedon Round Table taking on Swiss Valley, followed by The Old Inn against Clevedon RFC.

In the first match, Round Table were soon under pressure from Swiss Valley’s bowling attack, and, with a good knock by Dave Thatcher, they achieved an admirable total at the conclusion of their 20 overs.

In response, Swiss Valley’s openers, Simon Barzotelli and Mike Wilson started positively, setting the flavour for the remaining batters who achieved the total required to take the spoils.

At the Champagne moment all the players were congratulated and the contribution the three juniors was noted, but the bubbly was awarded to Ben Wilson from the Round Table.

The second match saw The Old Inn entertain Clevedon RFC, who batted first and with their Captain, Jonathan Shepherd reaching 52 retired, they achieved 157.

In response an inspirational 48 from Keith Welch gave The Old Inn some hope, but sadly they fell short of their target by 28.

At the Champagne moment, the bubbly was awarded to Paul Carey from The Old Inn.

Next Sunday, The Royal Oak take on The Bangladesh Warriors at 1pm and The Gig Club entertain The Triangle Misfits at 4pm. All Players, Supporters and their families will again be warmly welcomed.
