Nailsea Tennis club returned to action with all three teams picking up valuable wins in their quests for promotion recently.

Nailsea's Avon League men’s team had a comprehensive win against Redland winning 10-0. The team of Jon Lawson, Richard Foggin, Rohan Weekes and Kit Stokes were too strong and only dropped one set.

Both A and B teams had convincing wins, with the A side beating an experienced Clevedon team with the power of Richard Foggin and Ilia Phoursa proving too much along with the guile of their playing partners of Leonardo Malnieri and Jon Lawson.

The B team had a massive clash against Congresbury, as it was first v second in the table, and the winners stamping their authority in the quest to win the division.

Nailsea proved to be too strong as the pairings of Kit Stokes & Lee Cogan and Jay Williamson & Paul Frost strolled to victory without breaking too much sweat.

The ladies looked to bounce back from their disappointing defeat last time out with a match against Woodland. The pairings of Leah Wait & Esther Barker and Genevieve Buckland & Sarah Pink dominated all their matches for one of biggest wins witnessed at the club as they didn’t drop more than three games in any set.

This propelled Nailsea ladies back to the top of the table as they bid to win promotion in their very first season.
